This family house in Bath was poorly laid out and very dark inside.  After an extensive design and consultation, Kann Architecture obtained Planning Permission for a two story side extension in the World Heritage City of Bath.  The ground floor kitchen / diner extends the full depth of the house, with a new utility room built into the steep hill.  The loft conversion and new dormer window allow for far-reaching views across the valley.  An incredibly successful project.

There are many reasons to want a two storey extension, and for this reason they are very common.  Rear Extensions allow an extended kitchen or living area at ground floor and either one or two extra bedrooms and bathroom at first floor.
